Nintendo suddenly released the 2.0 update early with little fanfare, a bit surprising since it will be the last major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There was no tweet from any Nintendo Twitter account nor the dedicated Animal Crossing account, allowing viral marketing to fully take hold and spread the good news. Once fans were made aware via social media that the update was available early, many immediately returned to their islands to check things out....

In game, the various crafting options and terraforming possibilities have allowed folks to be very creative in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. People have designed themed islands based on movies, clothing worn by their favorite characters in other series, and someone even went so far as to bring the entire first act of Hamilton to life in New Horizons. Despite a fairly simplistic set of tools to work with, fans are finding ways to make unreal creations in the game....

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was one of the biggest hits of 2020 alongside other award-winning games like Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, likely in-part because it released just as the ongoing pandemic began forcing countries into strict lockdown procedures. Jennifer Lynn George, 46, has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals causing serious bodily injury or death, cruelty to animals, and three counts of neglect, per New Castle News.
