However, there are a select few who have actually managed to attain immortality. There are different ways of gaining immortality, and most of them come at a great cost. These immortal characters have a distinct advantage in battles, as their inability to die makes them immune to attacks from their opponents.

These characters bring a great deal of excitement to viewers’ screens, which is a big reason for the success of any anime series. Many of these characters are bestowed with true immortality or pseudo-immortality, both of which are extremely powerful. As a result, anime characters who possess either of these two forms of immortality really should not be messed with.
14 All For One - My Hero Academia
All For One is among the strongest villains in My Hero Academia. His quirk allows him to steal the Quirks of other people and combine them to create something that is even more destructive.
All For One gained immortality after he received the Life Force Quirk from Kyudai. Due to his immortality, All For One has managed to live for an extremely long period, which has helped him to gain more and more Quirks.
13 Sukuna - Jujutsu Kaisen
Sukuna is on a completely different level in comparison to the other curses. Due to his incredible power, he is known as the King of Curses. When Sukuna was defeated, the sorcerers tried to erase him from existence completely, but, due to his immensely powerful curse, Sukuna continued to exist inside his 20 indestructible fingers.

When Yuji consumed one of his fingers, it became clear why Sukuna was feared in the past. Sukuna’s powers are directly linked to the number of fingers that are consumed by an individual. The more fingers that he consumes, the easier it becomes for him to withstand more powerful attacks.
12 Muzan Kibutsuji - Demon Slayer
Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of the Demon Slayer series. Muzan was the first demon to ever be created, which makes him stronger than all the other demons in the popular anime series.
Even the members of the Twelve Moons, who are capable of fighting against the strongest Demon Slayers, cower before Muzan’s strength. Like all demons, Muzan has high regeneration speed, but, as the progenitor of demons, his recovery is so high that it almost seems as though he is never actually injured.
11 Manji - Blade of the Immortal
Manji is one of the main characters of Blade of the Immortal. He is an expert swordsman, who has survived countless fights throughout his life. He gained immortality after a nun placed a curse on him, which would only end after he had atoned for the killing of a hundred innocent souls.
Because of his inability to die, Manji was able to fight more recklessly, and it also allowed him to continue fighting even after he suffered an injury.
10 Ban — Seven Deadly Sins
Ban is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, a group of knights that have incredible powers. Ban was not born immortal; rather he gained his immortality when he met Elaine in the Fairy King’s Forest. When the forest was attacked by a demon, Ban tried to fight it, but ended up sustaining serious injuries in the battle.
He would have died, but Elaine had other plans, as she gave him the water from the Fountain of Youth. This gift made Ban immortal, and this power would later help him to save the world.
9 Kars — Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Kars is the main villain of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency. He was the leader of Pillar Men, which placed him a cut above ordinary humans. Kars’ goal was to use the Red Stone of Aja to become the perfect being.
Towards the end of BattleTendency, Kars managed to get his hands on the stone, which turned him into the perfect being. By becoming the perfect being, Kars gained several abilities one of them being immortality. Kars was only defeated by Joseph via plot armor, as the Pillar Man had no weakness that Joseph could exploit.
8 Father — Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Father is the main villain of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. In his strongest form, he was able to manipulate all matter around him. With his newfound power, he could create all kinds of forces.

Furthermore, he was immortal, which caused Edward and company a lot of problems throughout the anime. It took a lot of effort from the heroes to actually take him down and bring his reign of terror to a close.
7 Orochimaru — Naruto
Once an exemplary ninja of the Hidden Leaf, Orochimaru turned into one of the most dangerous villains in Naruto. He was a part of the Legendary Sannin, and was even offered the position of the Hokage, but Orochimaru was only interested in prolonging his life.
In pursuit of this goal, Orochimaru committed countless inhumane experiments in order to find a way to become immortal. Eventually, he managed to find a technique that allowed him to move from one body to another, thus achieving eternal life.
6 Alucard — Hellsing
The protagonist of Hellsing, Alucard served as a member of the titular organization, which was responsible for dealing with supernatural creatures. As a vampire, Alucard has countless abilities: superhuman strength, intangibility, incredible speed, and more.
In addition to these abilities, he also has the power to regenerate from any kind of serious injury. Alucard has recovered from every type of injury he has sustained in the anime, thus making him impossible to kill.
5 Kei Nagai — Ajin
Kei Negai is the main character of Ajin. As an Ajin, a person with supernatural powers and regenerative abilities, Kei is immortal and cannot die.

Throughout the entire series, Kei has shown that he is able to survive the most dangerous situations. He discovered he was an Ajin after a car accident that should have killed him. In addition to his immortality, Kei has the ability to paralyze people with his screams.
4 Hidan — Naruto
After becoming a rogue ninja, Hidan joined Akatsuki. He was not the smartest character in Naruto, but what truly made him a threat was his inability to die. Hidan was a devout follower of Jashin, and after conducting several experiments with Jashin’s technique, Hidan was able to become immortal.
With his immortality, Hidan was able to take on the likes of Asuma, Shikamaru, and even the tailed beasts without any problems. His fighting style revolved around stealing the blood of his opponent and then performing a ritual of stabbing himself, at which point the damage he took would be reflected on the person whose blood had been taken.
3 Ryuk — Death Note
Ryuk is among the most famous characters in the anime world. He is a God of Death, who appears in the legendary anime Death Note.
After stealing a second death note, Ryuk throws it in the human world where Light picks it up. Ryuk sticks with Light and sees how things will pan out. As a God of Death, Ryuk is immortal and cannot be killed.
2 Fushi — To Your Eternity
Originally, Fushi was just an immortal orb, but soon it began to take the shape of dead beings. First the orb turned into a wolf, and then into a boy. Fushi has numerous forms, and he can turn into any one of these, and cause massive destruction.
Fushi is also able to create things that he has touched such as food, sticks, and more. Over time, Fushi has come to realize the true extent of his powers. Currently in To Your Eternity, he can easily use his powers to fight enemies.
1 Zombieman — One Punch Man
Zombieman is an S-rank hero in One Punch Man. He has ridiculously fast regeneration, which allows him to recover from all kinds of injuries. The power of regeneration makes Zombieman a troublesome opponent as he has can recover quickly, which makes it incredibly tough for an opponent to escape. These regeneration powers also make it nearly impossible for him to die.
Since he is not physically as strong as the other S-Rank heroes, Zombieman uses other methods to fight his foes. He’s been seen dual-wielding blades, as well as using long-range weapons.
