Animal Crossing: New Horizons has found an extreme level of success during these trying times. Animal Crossing: New Horizons not only has improved visuals and character designs, but it introduces new mechanics such as terraforming islands and being able to pole vault over rivers.

An online Animal Crossing talk show titled “Animal Talking,” created by Gary Whitta who is the writer for Rouge One, debuted on Twitch earlier this year and features celebrity guests and live music. Danny Trejo recently appeared on the show and, interestingly enough, enjoyed his time so much that he has agreed to come on the podcast as a recurring correspondent.

Trejo is known in Hollywood for playing action roles in hit movies such as Machete and Heat, so it may be shocking for fans to see him have an interest in such a lighthearted game. However, he has taken a considerable liking to the game in hopes that his appearance to the show will help boost Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s mainstream appeal.

As stated by Whitta, Danny Trejos segments will be starting in June and feature him taking viewers on a tour of his island to see the updates and introduce them to his villagers. It will be interesting for both his fans and Animal Crossing fans alike to see what creative liberties Trejo will take when it comes to the design aspects for an island.

Animal Talking has seen much success that isn’t limited to Danny Trejo’s appearance. The show has had a variety of guest stars such as Elijah Wood, Felicia Day, Mike Drucker, and even T-Pain. Gary Whitta has even attempted to reach out to congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez to see if she would like to also appear as a guest on the show. Gary Whitta has put in a lot of passion and effort to make Animal Talking as big of a hit as it is, so props to him spreading the love and making Animal Crossing approachable to a broader audience.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
