Animal Crossing: New Horizons quickly became one of the hottest titles in the world of gaming following its launch. The timing of New Horizons’ release arriving at a time when many governments worldwide were urging people to stay home saw many gamers flock to the newest Animal Crossing as an escape from the ever-present COVID-19 pandemic. New Horizons was a massive success for Nintendo and brought out the creative side in many of its most inventive players with the game’s most recent marvel coming as a recreation of Breath of the Wild’s iconic Fort Hateno.

The stunning homage to a central location from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was created by Reddit user Naydinfar-Crossing. The creation features large castle walls with an archway representing the gates of Fort Hateno and even features small mossy statues to represent the multitude of decayed Guardians strewn about the rundown fort. Many smaller elements of the design from swords stuck into the ground to the tangled roots and shrubbery lend to the accuracy of the incredible creation.
The newest creation is far from the first time Naydinfar-Crossing has shared some of their stunning Animal Crossing designs based on Breath of the Wild’s most iconic locations. The user had previously shared an interior design based on the Ruined Hyrule Castle and their Zelda-themed Animal Crossing creations tend to be among the most popular posts on the subreddit. Other users in the comment section were equally impressed by the striking accuracy of not only the fort itself, but also paying particular mind to Naydinfar’s character wearing a dress design based on Breath of the Wild’s Link.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons both stand as juggernauts on the Nintendo Switch now looking to move onto their next era. Nintendo confirmed near the end of last year that Animal Crossing: New Horizons would no longer be receiving new updates and Breath of the Wild 2 is scheduled to release before the end of 2022. While Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ time in the spotlight may be drawing to a close, the game has left an indelible mark on the legacy of the console and brought the franchise to new heights.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch.
