One activity that gamers can participate in during the winter in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is constructing a snowman. The process can be simple, allowing players to enjoy the activity while there is snow on their islands. One gamer began making a snowman only to have it ruined by one of the insects that players can encounter.

A Redditor known as dengville posted a video of themselves trying to build a snowman. As the user is rolling up the upper snowball that will serve as the head, a beetle is seen next to the body of the snowman. The insect pushes the large snowball, causing it to fall of the edge of a cliff, which leads to the player pausing as if in shock until the short clip ends. According to dengville, they were in shambles when the snowman’s body got destroyed. It is an unfortunate event that can ruin any gamer’s day, especially when playing a video game that is meant to be relaxing.
Some Reddit users were able to sympathize with dengville, as one stated that they are sick of the bugs messing with their snowmen in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A commenter mentioned that the same thing happened to them, while another said that they did not know that it was possible for beetles to push the snowballs off of an edge. It is a tragic occurrence, one that can leave a gamer with a strong feeling of disappointment after making an effort.
The snowman building that dengville was participating in is one of the seasonal activities and events that Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can experience. This includes fireworks in the summer and Toy Day in December. The bugs and fish encountered will also change depending on what time of the year it is, meaning gamers have a certain amount of time to catch them, or else they have to wait until the next year. The items that are available in shops will also change with the seasons, giving players a small window to buy them before they disappear. Seasonal events are good for players, as it does give them a reason to pick the game up again in order to participate in activities that only occur once a year.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch.
