Animal Crossing: New Horizons has always had many customization options and a large amount of items that players can use to decorate their islands. This was also expanded more when Nintendo released the life sim’s free 2.0 update and the paid Happy Home Paradise DLC last November 2021. So it is not surprising for the fanbase to continue coming up with beautiful Animal Crossing: New Horizons island designs or ways to put different pieces together to create one unique build such as this fan’s lighthouse set-up.

On Reddit, user SaltMineForeman posted a photo of their lighthouse build on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The image they shared had two photos combined, one of the lighthouse seen during the day, while the other showed off the lighthouse scenery at night. The Redditor had even timed the night shot perfectly with a rare Animal Crossing: New Horizons shooting star seen in the background. Though the Redditor did not detail the specific items they used to create their lighthouse build, the photo shows them using the Storefront item to surround the Lighthouse item to create the structure at the base.

Comments on the Reddit thread showed that fellow fans of the life sim are very interested in recreating SaltMineForeman’s lighthouse build on their own Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands. The Redditor explained that they had seen this concept online before and had decided to finally replicate it within their game. One commented that they wished they had a brick skin on their lighthouse, and the Redditor helpfully pointed out that Cyrus, one of the NPCs found on Harvey’s Island, can actually customize the looks of special items in the game.

Given that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is turning three years old this March 2023, it is amazing to see how active the game’s community continues to be. There seems to be no slowing down the fanbase in its sharing of unique in-game discoveries, building tips, custom designs codes, and unique content online. Hopefully this engagement will continue on until Nintendo finally gives the players another Animal Crossing video game to look forward to in the future.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available for the Nintendo Switch.
