There are six tools in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, all with a unique purpose. The net and rod allow players to catch bugs and fish respectively, while the ax is used to chop down trees. Players dig up clams and move flowers with the shovel, while the watering can allows gamers to grow their plants. Finally, the slingshot allows players to shoot down Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ presents, which can contain anything from special DIY recipes to the always useful Bells. Every one of these tools recently received a stunning redesign from a talented fan.

Reddit user and Animal Crossing: New Horizons player StrawberryInu is responsible for the six porcelain designs, covering the entire range of tools available in the game. All use a gorgeous white and blue pattern, instantly setting them apart from any of the designs that are currently seen in the Nintendo title. The Porcelain color scheme also covers the entirety of the tools, something that further sets the designs apart since many of the game’s recolored tools keep the default looks for their handles.
Each design is full of intricate details, with a few in particular standing out. The watering can essentially looks like a teapot, with a tiger design easily visible on its side. The ball for Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ slingshot has a neat flower design, while the lure for the fishing rod is an adorable cloud. With the end of the shovel wrapping around nicely so that it looks like a vine, the fan clearly put a lot of thought and care into every tool featured in their memorable artwork.
While many adored this Animal Crossing: New Horizons creation, as it brought in over 14,000 upvotes, some were quick to joke about how quickly the tools would break. With many jokes already shared about the game’s tools breaking too often, it is easy to imagine a porcelain set smashing instantly upon use. Redditor Thunder_lord37 joked that one missed bug catch would see the tool shattered, and it is easy to imagine the ax or shovel breaking when hitting a surface. Still, even as joke items or a display set, it would be nice to see these gorgeous tools in the game.
Whenever the next Animal Crossing game releases, perhaps Nintendo will take some inspiration from the fan’s work and introduce a similar pattern for the items. For now, though, players can continue to admire this beautiful toolset concept.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
