The Rosalia Batesi Beetle is available for a 5 month period that differs depending on the hemisphere setting. Those in the Northern Hemisphere can find the beetle from May to September. On the other hand, Southern Hemisphere players have it during November to March. After satisfying that condition, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can look for the Rosalia Batesi all day long.

Rosalia Batesi Location

Although the Rosalia Batesi can be caught anytime when available, players will only find the bug on New Horizon’s tree stumps. The type of tree doesn’t matter, it just has to be cut down beforehand using any axe except the Stone Axe. However, the beetle does share the spawns with other species so it could take some time before actually finding one. If other bugs are getting in the way, searching during 7 PM to 4 AM will eliminate some of the more common spawns like butterflies.

Catching Tips

Players should leave several stumps behind to increase the chance of encountering one of these beetles. The elusive insect won’t attack like Wasps, but making too much of a ruckus will scare it off before it can be caught. To counter this, players need to sneak up with their net by holding the A button. Get as close as possible before releasing A to maximize the odds of catching the Rosalia Batesi Beetle.

Rosalia Batesi Price

After finally catching and adding the Rosalia Batesi to Blather’s Museum, players can focus on selling the rest of the beetles they find. Each one caught will fetch a price of 3000 Bells at Nook’s Cranny. While this isn’t the best profit compared to lucrative species like the Tarantula, players won’t have to invest much time besides setting up the stumps and checking up once in a while.

Once there are enough Rosalia Batesi Beetles in the shop and museum, players can focus their efforts on other bugs including the scorpion and many more May fish available to catch starting today. Considering the International Museum Day event is approaching in two-and-a-half weeks, they can start getting collections ready right now.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
