Some players like to come up with villager ideas based on animals that have already been included in the life simulator. Animal Crossing has touched on a number of different creatures, from cats and dogs to birds and bears. One gamer came up with their own Animal Crossing villager that is an octopus, though with a unique twist.

A Reddit user named drdoy123 came up with an idea for an inhabitant of their island that is an octopus mixed with a banana. The creature features a bump on its head that looks like the stem of the fruit and has spots on its limbs similar to what is seen on a ripe banana. The octopus, who drdoy123 named Banana, sports a blue shirt and a sticker on its cheek that resembles the leaf that is a part of the Animal Crossing logo. The octopus is a cute concept and is a unique twist on a creature that has already been done in Animal Crossing.

Banana has become popular among Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, with drdoy123’s post currently sitting at over 2,500 upvotes. Many commenters are stating that they want Banana to be in the games, with one fan saying that the character is real in their heart. Another gamer did mention that they are normally not a fan of octopus-based villagers, but that they want drdoy123’s creation on their island.

While drdoy123 is imagining villagers based off animals that have already been introduced to the world of the life simulator, some are creating concepts for creatures that are not in the games yet. A Redditor known as ILikeIt_Picasso came up with a design for a bat villager that could be included in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The bat, who has been named Melony, features a watermelon-theme and is covered in green fur with a red shirt. ILikeIt_Picasso also added a number of details for Melony, including its favorite color, likes, and personal goals. The design is adorable and is a nice way to introduce a type of creature that has not been done by Nintendo yet.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
