When Animal Crossing: New Horizons was launched back in 2020, long-time fans and players of the series were always curious about which special villagers would make a return to the franchise’s latest title. Of course, the Animal Crossing series would not be without its resident mogul Tom Nook, and the all-knowing museum curator Blathers. However, it was likely a pleasant surprise that New Horizons also brought back Celeste, and even gave her hobby of star-gazing a bigger role. In the Switch title, players can get Zodiac-themed and star-themed DIY recipes from her.

On Reddit, user Pichoop shared their unique take on Celeste by creating a digital painting of her. Instead of portraying Celeste’s regular anthropomorphic version, the artist re-created the character and made her look like an actual owl in the real-world. However, the painting retains the signature red feathers and pink and white patterns that dot the iconic form of Animal Crossing’s Celeste. Though this image of the special villager does not have her well-known pink bow, it provides a magnificent perspective on how beautiful a red owl would look like in real life.
Many comments on the Reddit thread offered their compliments on Pichoop’s artwork, calling it amazing and beautiful. Fellow fans also shared that they actually just encountered Celeste on their deserted island on Animal Crossing: New Horizons when they saw the post on the platform. The artist also mentioned in their caption that they were a fellow fan of Celeste, hence why they decided to make a digital painting of the character.
This Animal Crossing: New Horizons artwork of Celeste looks like it is the only one posted by the artist on Reddit so far. Hopefully the numerous positive compliments they received from the game’s community will encourage them to continue creating artwork of the game. Fellow fans are likely looking forward to seeing the artist’s versions of their favorite Animal Crossing: New Horizons special villager in the future.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
