As part of the November 5 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, gyroids will arrive as new home decor. One of the many different furniture items that players can use to decorate their houses, gyroids are unique in that they make sounds when activated. There have been many gyroids included in past games, with each making specific noises depending on the category and size of the object. To find these noisy items, players need to look underground. In anticipation of the release of gyroids in the Switch title, one gamer recently decided to replicate the design of one of the gyroids seen in a trailer for the upcoming update.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as sprocket07 shared an image of a new sculpture they had created. Based on Animal Crossing: New Horizon, the tiny object resembled a gyroid coming in the November 5 update. Many features were virtually identical to those seen in the video game, such as the small face found on the front of the object. In addition, the artist chose the same blue color palette for the design.

Besides showcasing the new piece of artwork on Reddit, sprocket07 revealed details about the item. In a video posted on TikTok, they captured the process of sculpting the piece. According to the artist, the sculpture was constructed out of clay. In addition to sharing the work on Reddit and TikTok, sprocket07 said that they wanted to eventually sell replicas of the design.

This clay recreation of a gyroid has become popular on Reddit with the Animal Crossing community. With over 12,400 upvotes in only a couple of days, many fans were impressed with the design. Some even commented that the artist should be hired by Nintendo to create official merchandise for the company.

It’s exciting to see new artwork based on Animal Crossing, such as this new gyroid sculpture from sprocket07. In addition to this project, another fan recently decided to construct a Kingdom Hearts tribute island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in honor of Sora joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s roster. With a new update for the game bringing even more gyroids to the franchise, it will be interesting to see if fans like sprocket07 create more gyroid replicas in the future.
