Although there aren’t quite as many leaving Animal Crossing: New Horizons as there were last month, there are still a few fish and bugs to look out for before July wraps up. Islanders in the Northern Hemisphere will be seeing the departure of a single bug, fish, and sea creature, each, whereas those in the Southern Hemisphere will simply be losing two sea creatures.

As mentioned above, bugs, fish, and sea creatures all vary from month to month in Animal Crossing, which makes collecting all the creatures, and crafting models of them, all the more difficult. Aside from time-traveling, players have no way of accessing out-of-season critters, considering the fact that wildlife can’t be traded with friends.

Players hoping to earn Blathers’ trust and fill the museum should be particularly wary of these seasonal changes, or they’ll find themselves unnecessarily waiting for critters to come back into season. For the wildlife in question, please see below.

Thankfully, this means that players in either hemisphere should have no problem gathering all the critters, even if they’re still missing all of them. Both the abalone and lobster are relatively common, as are all three of the creatures heading out of Northern Hemisphere islands. Honeybees may take a bit of aimless wandering, since they don’t spawn on trees like the Fight Club loving beetles, but tadpoles and the rest of the creatures appear quite often, at nearly all hours.

With the imminent arrival of New Horizon’s second Summer Update, players have more than enough to work with for the time being. If the tadpole and honeybee are yesterday’s news, islanders may want to get a head start on trading Pascal for lovely mermaid DIYs, or on prepping their islands for incoming mushroom-themed fall goodies.
