OxygenUpdater did a teardown of the new code to find out what the build will bring to OnePlus’ current 8 and 8 Pro phones, and stumbled across an image labelled ‘oneplus_8t.webp’. It is separate in the build from images for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

It is the image that will be used in the ‘About Phone’ section, where OnePlus puts an image of the phone itself.

Of course, this may not be legitimately what the OnePlus 8T will look like, and this leak more confirms the name of the device rather than the design. It could be a placeholder image that isn’t the final design.

Going off the image, the phone will be similar in design to the OnePlus 8 with a single cut out camera in the top left corner. It also looks as though the phone has a flat screen where the 8 and 8 Pro both opted for curved edges.

We expect the OnePlus 8T to launch sometime later this year as per the company’s usual six-month flagship upgrade cadence, but in a global pandemic, anything goes.
